We are now offering spray tan services! A safe alternative to sunbathing, it is the easiest way to get a healthy, all-over tan. To celebrate this new service, we are offering a spray tan special: buy two sessions, and the third is complimentary!
To get the most success out of your spray tanning experience, follow these pre and post spray tanning suggestions below:
Preparing For Your Spray Tan
To even out the skin’s surface, it’s recommended that you exfoliate with a non-oily scrub. This will gently remove dead skin cells and will ensure that your skin is primed and ready for the spray tan application. Avoid exfoliating with any products that will leave the skin excessively oily (such as salt scrubs).
Remove all lotions, creams, deodorants, makeup and other toiletries before your appointment. Discoloration and an uneven tan can occur if these products are left on the skin. You will be able to apply deodorant after your spray tan.
Shaving should be done at least a day before your appointment, and waxing a few days prior. Use new shaving blades if you decide to shave, because old, dull blades can strip your tan and cause uneven fading.
Remove all jewelry before tanning. Tight fitting jewelry (watches or rings) should not be worn until after your first shower.
What to Wear to Your Appointment
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and shoes to your appointment – think sweats or a sun dress. Avoid tight-fitting clothing, as that can botch tanning results.
We will provide disposable bras, thongs or panties for the treatment. You are welcome to bring an old, dark-colored bathing suit instead. Most tanning mists wash out of clothing easily, but tend to stain light nylon and other synthetic materials.
After Your Spray Tan
Plan not to get wet, exercise or perspire for at least 4-6 hours after your tan. After your first shower, normal activities may resume. You will see some color washing off the first time you shower, but don’t be alarmed–this is just the color guide. Your tan will continue to develop for up to 48 hours after the application.
Avoid these skin care products:
Retin-A and skin bleaching products
Acne or skin products containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, beta hydroxy acids, malic or lactic acid
Toners and serums containing alcohol or witch hazel
Microdermabrasion
Facial scrubs, masks, and strips
Avoid these body care products:
Wash cloths, loofahs and loofah gloves
Body moisturizers and shower gels that contain petroleum or mineral oil bases
Soaking in salt water (or swimming in the ocean), chlorine (hot tubs or pools), or warm baths can rapidly exfoliate your tan. Do not rub your skin with a towel after bathing–pat dry only.
Avoid waxing, hair-inhibiting lotions or creams, depilatory hair removers, body hair bleaching, or shaving with dull razor blades.
Please note that, while rate, a sunless tan may develop differently during various hormone cycles (ovulation, menstruation, or even heightened stress), resulting in lighter tans or fading unevenly.
Remember than sunless tanning products do not protect against sunburn, use of a sunscreen is always recommended when going outside!
